don't think there is such a folder.............we all just post them straight onto the thread.

there is a section listed which gives a precise  description as to how to post them . it's easy and straight forward once you get used to it.

good luck. neil.

So, this is me briefly, most of my life i was friends with Brian Pegg (RNLI mechanic, then Coxn/Mechanic), by the late 70s early 80s i was going out crab potting with him quite often which led to Lifeboat involvement & trips out on 37-02 Oakley (Manchester Unity of Oddfellows), also a trip on 37-03 (Calouste Gulbenkian) when it came on relief, + a thump round in Cromers D class.
Some people say the Oakleys were slow, yes to todays boats they are, but i CAN say from experience that going up the side of a 25ft wave at 8 knots is quite fast enough for my stomach ! They were a VERY stable boat, i enjoyed those trips.
I decided to build a working model of 37-02 in 1/12th scale, oh lor what a decision, started in 1979 & kept at it for about 11 or 12 years, yes, years, came upon a problem i couldnt resolve & put it on a shelf until last year, problem solved & its now finished, only 35 years ! (albeit only 12 1/2 working on it). Its one boat no-one can criticise the colours on, its all genuine RNLI paint ! Thanks Brian Wink

Having done that, iv gone totally crazy & bought 5 boats that need varying degrees of sorting out, ones got a holey hull, ones got no fittings & a crappy paint job, & just fetched today a HUGE 6ft 6in Oakley that i fell in love with the instant i saw it for sale.
I dont profess to be an expert modeller, altho iv prob done most things, inc trains (built an 11ft long working model of the Prototype Deltic, since sold) & classic car resto.
Enough about me..... Wink

there's never enough good information John, and all fascinating stuff too.

I have seen your thumbnail of your Oakley on mayhem and it looks lovely...........perhaps you could post some shots of it on here............I am after all, a great lover of classic lifeboats myself...........can't beat them.

Good to have another lifeboat nutter on here...........there's only Mike and myself at the moment, so you make a very handy addition.
neil.
