a friend of mine who used to live down Cromer way, but now upt norff saw this in an auction house a couple of weeks ago and asked me whether it was a nice model or not.................I thought it was a cracker, and apart from the hull which I think is a GRP moulding from Orion Mouldings, everything else is scratch built and of nice quality............so he got me to bid on it for him as he is at best mobile, at worse, sometimes not so, and lives on't other side of't  river to me..

So will take it round to him tonight.........hope he's happy with his purchase..............nice little boat...it is based upon the Caister Independent Lifeboat of the early to mid 1960's and is a Liverpool twin screw class lifeboat. That is why it is a strange colour scheme......but very true to the real boat...........in fact a nice little model.

Sadly though it is not radio controlled and the top won't come off at the mo..............so don't know what he wants to do with it.

Good luck jim. lol

sadly due to his lack of any experience with boats he says it's too nice to put under the knife by an inexperienced modeller, so it's going up for sale at the Blackpool show this weekend.

I have a few sets of lifeboat mouldings to sell myself as am a bit strapped for cash due to HMRC  cocking my child tax credits up for nearly two years so will take his boat along as well.

hopefully it should sell there.

Better dealt with by someone who can than someone who knows he can't with out spoiling it.

Hi Mike........has the guy called Rob Baines not sent them to you direct.......I asked him too weeks ago on the ALR rescue forum on open message and he said he would asap........he works on North sea rigs but comes home regularly.

I don't go on that forum anymore as I fell out with the so called chairman because of the bullish blundering way he was attacking the boat and then accused me ( all be it under a general message to keep the forum private because I went down to measure the castleated nuts on the prop shaft ends for the removal of the valuable props for safe keeping as there are a lot of scoundrels working that place at the dead of night......he got the other uy to say that someone had been down looking to steel them when he knew exactly who I was..but I will message him agin matey.

as for the moulds.

1) Tyne class abs hul at 1:16 or 1:20 ( don't know which...)£35 ovno

2) thames class seconds moulds with all the crinkles           £55. no.

3 ) Mersey class hull  and s/s...........................................£105. ovno

4)  Liverpool class hull and cabin                                      £85  ovno

I know that the prices are above what you would like to pay matey but I am absolutely strapped for cash as child tax credits have been f****** with my payments for two years now and still can't get it right or even apologise to me for the mistakes they made and so need the dosh badly as my savings have been eroded to hell this past 22 months.

oh and I am not going to the show this year as have got something on both days, but will be dropping everything off on the friday afternoon and if anything sells picking up dosh and what's left on the sunday...........my two daughters are involved in college work both days so will be using car as taxi for them.......thats why I can't get.
