Hatch handles Empty
PostSubject: Hatch handles   Hatch handles EmptyFri Jun 24, 2016 8:43 pm

I was asked in my Rhyl Mersey build to share some of my methods for making fittings to help out new builders, this is the first such method.

The hatches on the foredeck now need the handles making and fitting.

For the handles I use an appropriate shape and size of electrical cable clip of the type that are hammered in to support the cable.

The sides are sliced off with a sharp craft knife or scalpel to give the required thickness.  BE CAREFUL AS THE KNIFES ARE SHARP AND THE PLASTIC TOUGH!!!!!!

Pull out the nail and again slice the round section to the required length.

Insert an M2 machine screw and either glue or bolt in place.
