I hope they had insured it if it cost them a quarter of a mill...………..based on an inland waterways Dutch barge, with all that top hamper and little freeboard, I could have told them that that would happen...………….having owned a narrow boat it doesn't take a genius to work out that risk assessment...………
I'm amazed the MCA allowed it to undertake the passage...……...or perhaps the tow company didn't notify them...…
as for it being prepared……….I just loved the way the boarded up windows soon popped out with the inrush of water compressing the air...……..prepared my arse, lol.
THINK THE ONLY THING THEY PREPARED WAS A TOW ROPE.
