Krick Felic Haburg suitable for a novice? Empty
PostSubject: Krick Felic Haburg suitable for a novice?   Krick Felic Haburg suitable for a novice? EmptyMon Dec 30, 2019 9:45 pm

Evening all, I am looking for something to keep me occupied through the winter nights and wondered if this would be a suitable starter for someone with no experience and limited finesse, crafting ability?

I presume buying the whole thing as a kit is a good idea - and this doesn't look too expensive compared to buying things separately - but I am more interested in building than sailing it.  But I will definitely put it in the water in due course - there is a model boat club at a nearby lake.

Glues, sandpaper etc are obvious but any top tips on other things I might do well to get from the outset?

Thanks in anticipation.

I can’t personally say if it’s an ideal starter kit, usually I recommend an aeronaut kit much like the diva, classic, or queen for beginners with no experience as they tend to be very easy to build, good instructions and I’ve built them all and many members here are also familiar with them so we can provide better assistance for the slightly harder jobs...

That said check out this build log of the kit someone build in another forum, it may help cast your choice...

Also note that’s a full RC kit... if u want to build up to to the electronic side at a cheaper pace then Cornwall model boats do the kit for £100 and you can add the electrics later as you progress, after all it could be years before you finish if anything like me.

Anyway check out the build log and have a look for yourself what’s required, if your not comfortable with that type of build we can recommend other boat kits similar or better for beginners.
