The reefing lines on my boat's sails stick out anyway but down. How do you 'train' them to hang the correct way so they look 'natural'?

I don't know the answer. I think that perhaps the problem lies with the cord supplied. I find it very stiff and with a mind of its own. I have great trouble even knotting it sometimes. Too late for your reefing lines, but I wonder if the answer is to wash the cord in a hank before using it - would this soften it?
IF ( a big if) I ever make another model with lots of rigging I may give it a try. Rolling Eyes

Barrie, a very good idea. If I have to replace them, so be it. Perhaps I could iron them. Need a wee test.

If You Rub Fabric Softener Sheet (i.e.; Dryer Sheet / A Bounce Sheet) on the lines, that will cause softness and static, and the Reefing lines will lie down on, and stick to, the Sail material.

You can rub it on before, or you can wipe each one now.

It works.
