What's your desktop look like?

I'm quite boring by comparison just a moody shot of my fastest boat

Love the Orca Ole and obviously a wild one (for those who arn't aware the dorsal always bends over in captivity)

I've no idea what this says about me but it just makes me laugh

I'm guessing that in whatever country and era that comes from poop had a different connotation to what it has for us dog owners

well I use my wife's laptop and when I bought it for her I searched around and then put this desktop on it (says a lot)



If it was my laptop I like this Pre Raphaelite image



but then again I also really like this one (and I made her into a twin lads )

I used to have an old tower type computer back in the days when I liked Picasso a lot. Guernica was the desktop but in the end I found it a bit depressing. Then it blew up anyway and I hadn't backed anything up so thousands of paintings images I had went west. Fortunately it happened at a time when I wasn't doing any OU work.

A black screen I've tried every which way and haven't been successful getting Windows7home to accept a small version ofmy schooner appears at start up, when windows loads it disappears

That seems odd Damien. You have probably tried but, right click on the thumbnail of your picture and select, "Set as wallpaper". That should do the trick. If not check it is in jpeg format. If not we will have to did a little deeper..

In Vista it's

right click on blank area of desktop

select personalise

select desktop background

select browse and then find your image in pictures.

Can't see it being too much different in 7 (but maybe it is - I aint a pc geek )

It wants me to add a theme from the theme menu but doesn't say how to create a theme.

As I understand it a theme is something very different - like the theme for this page is blue filled boxes and some type etc. I don't think you are in the right place (but I've not seen 7).At step two above I have the option to choose theme instead of select desktop background.

try pressing PRTSY SYSRQ button on keyboard (might be print screen button on yours) then paste into paint and save, then post that image then we can see what you have.

I alternate but hear are two I still use a lot for some reason..

HS93 is obviously a classic minimalist having chosen two exactly the same and uninterupted shades of blue grey - both modern masterpieces. His rejection of desktop clutter and abstraction reveals an incisive mind and a strength of focussed purpose neccessary for his artistic bent - the model.

I could have done with that approach on ships nostalgia the other day,

these are the two I use the most , if I can now load them

If you have a starter version of windows seven, it doesn't allow you to change the desktop wallpaper believe it or not. My wife has just got a new laptop, and is going to upgrade it to a different version as it is so bad.
