Thanks lads I agree that bowsprit does look a tad long but looking at the photo on the box its prob just because the masts etc are not in place yet. remember this is a schooner and they do have a massive sail area for the hull size, compared to other period ships as they were all about speed and agility not massive fire power hence only 4 guns on the maindeck

Phil It loooks a nice one, not very easy, the rigging will be a difficult. How's it going and will you put it in the bottle ? It reminded me of a 1/300th Napoleonic Dutch Gun Boat I made several years ago which included figures, which I think I have a few left over, if you want them I believe I can find them. This led me to taking some photos, which showed up the dust, so I am starting a new thread with them.

thanks matey. the hull is app 1 1/2 inch loa so if you have figures to spare that small I'd be delighted,

the rigging and getting it in the bottle are definately the hard parts of this build.

the rigging method in the instructions does not allow the masts to fold flat enough for it to pass through the neck so a rethink is required. plus a dummy run attempt at using the supplied special tool for placing it on the stand in the bottle showed a flaw with the said tool. it simply does not grip the hull adequately. so yet another rethink.

also pressure of work has kept me away from building for a bit (6 & 7 day weeks since new year) more will be posted as soon as I have time.
