(My apologies in advance for my terrible French accent.)
So the Parachute Regiment captain was explaining to the French Foreign Legion captain what he had planned for their joint exercise.
“... and then we’ll fly in the Hercules to the Warcop Range and jump out at 2000 feet AGL ...”
“2000 feet!”, exclaims the Legion captain. “Can we go in a leetle lower?”
“Well I suppose we could make our approach at 1500 feet”, says the Paras captain.
“Zat still seems a leetle high”, says the Legion officer.
“OK, 1000 feet ...”
“Lower?”
“Well maybe 500 feet, but below that there wouldn’t be time for our parachutes to open properly.”
And the Legion captain says: “Parachutes?”
