Bought this band saw on ebay they said it was Manufacturer refurbished unbeknown to me the GMC brand went bust in '09 and from internet research appear to noe be UK based and don't have band saw in their list.

 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251297946148?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Cost $60 Plus $35 postage what arrived was a carton with the machine, table sliding protractor and timber rail all loose the carton.
All What a worn out or damaged in some way what a mess it was I say was as after about 20hrs I had it working sort of ok

I'm trying to source 3/8" brass bar at present to manufacture the holder for the blade roller guide assembly.

I found some on ebay in UK but the postage is 3 times the cost of the brass.

The seller said he would refund the $60 but I would have to spend another $35 freight to send it back at this point I had a real good look at it and decided I would keep it and buy a new blade and make whatever else was needed I guess this is still modelling.

Consequently I didn't leave him good feedback  my ebay name is boatmodeller if you'd like to look at his f/back as you can tell I'm a little bit short of p'd off.

Damien

Let me have the link for the brass - maybe it would be cheaper if I buy it in the UK and post on to you. Any idea of the weight of what you want?

I'm still waiting on a reply from the aussie seller I usually buy from he doesn't have 3/8" or 10mm listed a the moment, he replied replied saying he'll get back to me but he's flat out at pres so I'll give him a few more days.

The one I found is cheaper for the bar and it includes UK postage.  This is the one - not sure about postage to Oz.

Thanks to BarrieW the needed parts has now been made, the first pic is the blade guide carrier bar the left is the cast aluminium original that had stripped threads the r/h one is brass silver soldered and machined with a double cut carbide tool in my dremel.

This one is the new guide rollers mounted on the left and the worn out rollers on the right.

I'm removed the twists and kinks in the blade so all is well until the blade needs replacing.

Again Barrie Thanks for your assistance.

Back together and working well I've ordered a new blade from the US as I couldn't get the twists and kinks out fully and it caused a wider cut.
so when it arrives my Fathers day pressy will be complete by Fathers day.
