Build interrupted for a few days = new crew member arrived after a few days delay due to her being a little under the weather.

Oooooh I have to make sure my missus doesn't see this she desperately wants another been 3yrs since Daisy died.but we have no yard to speak of and neither of us are up to walking a dog any more. Reading in the press yesterday they have confirmed with brain scans dogs love their humans as much as we love them. We had dogs for 30yrs truth be told I'd love another mate too.

The missus and me had our first together soon after we married over 30+ years ago, an Irish Red and White Setter and since then we have always had setters. Our IRWS was followed by a Gordon Setter, then an Irish Setter (our current one) Poppy, and with retirement coming up for me we decided that it was a good time to get another one in the family for company for our Irish. So we went back to the start and got another Irish Red and White. Had to wait a while as they are a vulnerable breed with very few registrations in the UK each year - only around 230 registered each year but eventually managed to reserve this one - 'Phoebe'. Had to travel a 400 mile return trip Monday to bring her home but she has settled in marvellously over 26 hours so far. The older setter has taken to her with no problems but shes a bundle of energy never stopping since she got here. Normally we found that our dogs were a little shy the first two days and took time to adjust - not this one!! So far a meerkat, a duck and a pheasant have all been destuffed and destroyed. And we did promise Now this time she doesn't get on the sofa..............that didn't last!!

After a necessary delay I have managed the odd half hour here and there on this build and yesterday and today some remarkable things happened. The rain stopped here. The puppy allowed me some time off from playing and tending to her needs so I did manage to get the build finished (the prop needs to be put back on but have run out of threadlock).
So all over now bar the shouting and the sailing. A build I have enjoyed immensely and pleased that I got this on the spur of the moment.

This retirement m'larkey isn't bad at the moment!
Not only time to do some model work but also able to sail on a weekday afternoon and join the other retired men of leisure.
Managed to get some nice sailing time with this model so putting a few pics up of her on the water. Lovely placid sail with no vices and turns in her own length. Very nice and relaxing.

I always liked Dave's River Starbut he stopped producing it after a shortish life span as he only sold a hand full......they are rare as hen's teeth these days.
