S100 Schnellboot 1.24

Hi, all, i,ve just joined,and am into Schnellboots...i,ve got an Italeri, 1/35...and a Dachs....and a recently purchased S100 in 1.24 scale,it has i believe a Metcalf hull,...and it has been built from plans, i,m not the builder,....it is quite well detailed...but i intend to make it better...basically,i,d like to give it a crew, my 1/35 version has a full crew,and i want to do the same for this big one,...but,i can,t find anyone who does 1.24 resin figures...can anyone point me in the right direction...

Once I master posting pics...which to date...i,ve just made a pigs arse of...you won,t be seeing anything....may have to ask for assistance...by posting pics to someone else via an email then they can post for me....Finding a crew though is turning out to be a pain....

Hi all,just took delivery of my 1.24 S100...its been scratch built,...and over all its not too bad,..there are some minor issues,..but they are fixable,...the first fix has to be the props,...they are in my opinion too small, they measure 35mm,...they are all the same hand,as there is only 1 speed controller,...but i can live with that for the time being...what i need to know is..what size of prop should be on a 1.24 Schnellboot,

Hi guys,i,ve been very busy with the schnellboot,..i initially only intended to do a few things and try and keep it a simple as pos,Ha....some hope,....first to go were the props,..and the centre motor,I got great advice from a guy who is a member of the Edinburgh model boat club,he advised me to run it on 2 motors .and i took his advice, and am happy with the result,..i bought 2 x 50mm D type props,in brass from propshop,then i fitted 2 x new couplings, the existing one,s were cheapo,s,..then i fitted new brass A frames..as it did,nt have any..it only had P frames,then i moved the outside rudders to line up with the props and i fitted new ..one,s that are over sized,..but..i don,t thing the little fish,s will notice,..then i got a full crew from the same guy,...then i removed all the removable stuff, and repainted the entire boat,...the model when i got it, had some scale issues..by that i mean the rear gun and centre and fore were out of scale,..the front one was an eyesore, ..that went, the other 2 i can live with,,I bought 2 x new square liferafts from Battlecraft,and a set of boathooks,...I gave it a camo paint job..now i know that the s100/130,s never really had camo paint jobs..but..i wanted one..so it got it, and i,m happy,...still can,t upload pics...as i,ve got old dog new trick syndrome..have tried repeatedly..but to no avail,..perhaps i could send some pics to another member..who could then upload them for me,
Just as a matter of Interest, i was at an auction on the 11th Jan...and bought ..for a dear friend, a 1/72nd scale HMS Lagos,..it has everything in it,the motors are humongous, its git turret rotation, smoker, full sound,including gun fire and pom,pom firing sounds and its even rigged to fire the depth charges at the stern...these are done by compressed air,it has over 70 crew members,and has had in its time been all over the UK,as there are loads of awards from as far away as Norfolk, Dorset, Weston-Super Mare,..again..i,d like to let you see it ..but...

Thanks Barrie ,for posting my pics,I still have a few little things to do,like some weathering, and some finer details,this has been my first attempt at painting a model boat, and rectifying the faults that it had,...and i am pleased with the end result,the smaller boat behind is a Dachs,i got it like that,and its up and running,and what i like about it,is its small enough to get in the car without having to work out the seat configuration,that one has 2 x graupner 500,s running 2 x 35mm props,.. I,ll take some pics of the Lagos on Friday, and let you see her,..i don,t think i,ve ever seen an HMS Lagos for sale,..the one that i got for my friend was built from plans,..it came from a deceased,s estate,...on the day of the auction there were around 20 models altogether, and ..the prices were rock bottom...there was 3 lifeboats, in 1/12th scale that had everything,and the each sold for under £200....the total raised for 20 models was less than £1500...which is a pittance really..for a lifetimes work....
