HI,
when I was in Conwy harbour I took some photos of The Helen II, this is a sail boat built in 1910 in Conwy harbour on the beach by john crossfield who built many fine boats this way. she is 40 foot long built of oak frames and pitch pine planks. used for prawn netting.
this is her before they started to strip of all the old planking. the local college of marine boat building is helping restore it with funding from the lottery heritage. the boat was donated to Conwy by the Roddick family for recreational use by any body when complete to train them to sail.
this is the start of the strip down. if any body is interested I will keep up you up dated with progress.
