Hello everyone
I have built the model of the Waverley and did a blog on Mayhem so I won't bore you with the details unless requested. I would like to show a few construction pictures of how it was done.
The hull was purchased from Waverley models in Clevedon, Somerset along with the brass paddle parts. The rest was scratch built and she took around 6 months to build.

lovely job kenny.......just pure nostalgia..........hope you don't mind me posting a few pics on your thread, but seeing and sailing on her every summer for the past 12 years i thought you might like to see a few of her from Largs, neil.
and finally off to her birth in Glasgow for the night.

Great pictures Neil. Thank you for sharing them with us.
The Waverley is due down here in the Bristol Channel this Saturday and will be touring the coastline. I hope to go down and see her again for some more pictures

have you been on her kenny.............if not, she is really well worth a trip...a fantastic ship. was on her two years ago doing a sail around the kyles of bute when she was called to answer a distress call for a man overboard from a yacht. a happy outcome but the whinging that went on because she was out for 4 more hours than she should have been, searching.....i just loved it. i would say to anyone who gets a chance....have a sail on her..she might not be around a great deal longer, sadly if this government and it's regulations has a say.

I hope to get aboard this year as I missed the boat last year as she never came into Newport
All the people were transported to Penarth by coach. Evidently our local river was not ready for her.
Here is the final part of this short blog. Seems funny to condense 6 months work into an evening by the fire.

Thank you everyone.
Yes I must admit I do like this craft. She has pride of place on the shelves. It was a busy time posting all the above with more clicks on the mouse than I'm used too.
I might put up some more shortened versions of the other models if the interest is there.
Dicky, the Titanic is coming along great and might be released soon. So many mistakes that parts have been rebuilt several times and more photos than you can shake a stick at. Will need sorting through to show a smoother Blog, unless you want to see the downs as well as the ups. Sometimes it can be depressing to re cut 600 windows !!
I will put up the latest picture on this site and see if anyone is interested.

Very nice build. and thanks for bringing a few very precious memories back. I remember when I was a kid, having holidays seven years on the trot in Motherwell with my Mum and Dad, going on the Waverley from Glasgow Broomielaw to Dunoon and back again. Thanks for sharing.

Hi I am starting my journey to build a Waverley paddle steamer. I was hoping to purchase a fibreglass hull but it seems that the original manufacturer no longer exists. Unless some has information about current suppliers I’ll have to build another way.
The paddles themselves are not a problem as I am a retired engineer / clockmaker with a reasonable workshop to hand.
Any advice is welcome
Thanks in advance

https://www.mountfleetmodels.co.uk/product/p-s-waverley/ my hull is from here but I'm totally stalled at the moment with a severe lack of motivation & interest. It's a nice hull albeit a bit thin and it comes with a decent set of plans that will give you all you need for building and paddle wheels.
