new things afoot

Fleetwood has had a lot of money spent on the sea front amenities over the past few months care of the Lotteries commission, and to be honest the small improvements are beginning to look good.

I went down today walking the pooch and found that the model lake had been drained and all the crap is being taken out of the lake bed............but more importantly, the lake has been leaking for years, and the local council has nopw taken measures to stop the leaks between the model lake and the main marine lake..............plus, they are widening the causeway across the lake by almost a metre, to aid both visitors and the modellers.............something that has been asked for for years.

they are also putting in new pumping apparatus to aid refilling the lake..................yippee..........no more back braking bending to plop my models into the lake.

It's good to be a cod head, lol

the large diameter poly pipe is the new drain for the model lake and will aid rapid drainage as and when needed.

Our lake will be useless for months sunday gone was the annual head of the lake school rowing regatta after mowing the 2km course it'll be useless until the cut weeds rot down.

we had terrible weed problems a few years ago and then the council put into the lake some  sonic sensors which eradicated the problem........now we are mostly weed free.

Not likely here though Environmentalists would have a fit over what it would do to the fish and bird life of the area.
