Gyro control of steering Empty
PostSubject: Gyro control of steering   Gyro control of steering EmptySun Nov 13, 2022 3:22 pm

Has anybody tried using a helicopter gyro, such as "2.4G FlySky FS-BS6 6 channel remote control receiver" or "R/C Vision 2000 heading hold gyro" to control the heading of a boat?
I have a model of HMS Protector. It has a high tophamper and is very susceptable to the wind. I remember reading somewhere of somebody using a giro from a helicopter to maintain a fixed heading.
Thanks.

Hi Womble,

It is the first time I have heard of that, however I have heard of someone programming an Arduino board to do the same sort of thing.
Mind you that was a few years ago now.
