I've recently joined this forum, even though I have completed 3 RC boats in the last few years.
The first one was a Billings kit I bought and started when I lived in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is No. 433, Progress-Flevo fishing boat. Plank on frame. I did a terrible job starting the hull, then began to move several times before winding up here in Atlanta. I was cleaning out my shop and preparing to throw away the 40 year old model, but as I began to look at it, I realized that most of the pieces were still there, and I could fabricate what was missing. So, 42 years later, I'm very pleased that I didn't toss it! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Next I built a live steam Krick Victoria Hudson river launch using a Cheddar twin cylinder engine.
And my last - just completed recently - was the Dumas Carol Moran tug ... 1/24 scale. BIG! Weighs 48 pounds with ballast in, but it moves through the water really well.
If anyone knows of a boating group with a good pond, I'd love to learn of it.
And while I'm here, happy holidays to all boat modelers!

Welcome John! A splendid collection of models. We are a mainly UK based Forum, although all are welcome. I am not aware of any other members in Atlanta, so you may not get any help with finding a suitable boating lake.
