PostSubject: Dumas-skee-vee-10   Dumas-skee-vee-10 EmptyTue Mar 21, 2023 8:40 am

Hi all. I am trying to relive my childhood 35 yrs after building RC planes, boats and cars. I am waiting on the mail for a Dumas Skee Vee 10. I wish to put my old OS 10 FP marine engine to use.  I have ordered the Dumas hardware kit but I want to modernise it as much as I can. I have ordered the equivalent of the following out drive.Dumas-skee-vee-10 Update10

Can I ask for any related advice and particularly to a suitable prop. I am thinking of the Octura X-435 prop, but I am going blind having only used old mate Google. I have trim tabs and turn fins ordered as well. Any advice upon how to best maximise this project would be greatly appreciated.

X30-35 dog drive prop needed 40 and 45 are to big to run that. I should know that’s my boat in the photo lol

I know Roadrunner, that is why I was hoping for your specific advice Very Happy. Can't find any x30 or x35s.

Octura Prop

Do you mean x432 and x435, 32mm and 35mm? If so which one would you suggest for the O.S. .10?

There is also a plastic Octura prop Y534 seen here on a .10 powered Dumas Li'l Rascal which seems to move quite well.

Octura also have a X632 (32mm).

432 would be suitable however I highly suggest buying a plastic (grp) prop to test first before committing to an expensive “metal” prop as it’s cheaper to test the loads and performance with out the larger price tag.

Once you are happy with the props performance you can go ahead and swap, however avoid those bronze ones you would want a berillium for ultimate performance.

Check out https://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/hdwraccs.htm

it’s where I get the majority of my power boat parts
