| Hi Just joined the forum after starting to build a model of the barge Will Everard. I originally planned to do this in about 1980 when I bought a set of MAP plans but it looked too complicated so I never started. However Covid encouraged me to build a model yacht and last year I started A Billings kit of Will Everard. Despite the very poor instructions I have built the hull and masts but am now stuck with the rigging and sails Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also can anyone tell me what the coil of copper wire is for. Finally if anyone would appreciate the original MAP plans I would be happy to donate them Thanks Dave | |

| Well, I've never built one of these, but liked these ships for a long time (still do but interest changes). The rigging you have to dig out from different image sources, if you won't find it for the original boat you build. There are many similar ships ... looks like the origina is in a museum, maybe they can also help. I just searched for the name and found a building report: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]There are some photos of the rigging and marks on the plan, sure also some advice. Best regards, Joerg | |

| Hi and welcome to the Forum.
I built Will Everard an my build log is on this site - https://www.thercmodelboatforum.com/t1746-will-everard I can't remember the build in detail, but if you could load a photo of the brass it may remind me.

| Hi JoJoElbe I've built several these wonderful craft, at all scales, they are such proud looking sailing workboats. I built the Billings kit as it was a unique way of hull building, two halves longitudinal then joined down the middle. Here's an image of my finished Will, in the colours she was in (when I built her) at her moorings on the Thames. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
